What is BIM?
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a process used to create detailed digital models of buildings or infrastructure.
These models include not only the physical structure but also important functional information, like materials, costs, and timelines.
BIM helps different teams, such as architects, engineers, and contractors, to work together more efficiently throughout all stages of a project—from the design phase, through construction, and even into the building’s operation and maintenance. This makes the entire project easier to manage and improves communication between everyone involved.
At SolidPoint, we pride ourselves in being specialists in producing the existing phase of a Building Information Model from 3D laser scanned point cloud data.
This means that all of our Revit users are extremely efficient in creating content natively in Revit, based on laser scan or point cloud data. Every project type we encounter has it’s own standards and specifications that we adhere to.
We achieve this by producing all of our own Revit Families and Revit content on a bespoke basis where necessary, working to varying levels of detail and tolerances that best suit the project. Where possible, we build intelligence into our building information modelling which narrates model intent and allow for easy editing when working beyond the existing phase.
How Much Does a BIM-Ready Survey Cost?
Typically, the cost can be as low as £445 + VAT for a small sized plot. This price will of course increase dependant on size and the level of detail required to record what you need.

Revit Modelling Services
If you need to work in Revit as part of your clients scope, but don’t feel confident in delivering everything required, then we are here to help. Our Revit technicians have vast experience in the software. And can deliver anything you require using it.
Our Skilled Revit technicians can support your project by adding additional services remotely using BIM 360. We have all of our own collaboration for Revit licenses so can easily be added to your BIM 360 Project to lend you that extra hand you need to get your Revit BIM project delivered on time to the level of detail required.
Mass Modelling
Sometimes large areas need representing accurately and rapidly at low cost. This is where massing comes into it’s own. By making full use of our Laser Scanning Services and point cloud data, we can accurately represent the captured information as massing objects within Revit. If you need quick surrounding context, then this is the perfect for you.
Many of our clients use this as a starting point for the conceptual design stages, as it ensures the consistency of the information provided when continuing through to detail design and construction. All of our models are produced in Autodesk Revit so it is simple to work with and extract information from throughout the design stages without loss of data.
Area Reference Plans
For valuation purposes it is essential to understand the net or gross areas of particular areas or rooms within a building. By using Revit, we can efficiently present this information for you within your Revit Project. Creating Schedules that provide the foundation valuation or space usage reports.
