Download Your Files From Sync
How to Download Your Survey
SolidPoint Sync is the online delivery area used to issue your survey. You can view the folders online and download individual files or folders to your computer.

Accessing Your Files
Once your survey is ready, you'll receive an email from our team.
Click the button labelled 'Access Survey Files' - this will direct you to your project folder on Sync.
Download Your Files
Click on the file type you'd like to download. You'll see 3 dots - click those and then 'Download'

What Each File Is For
File Types
File names vary by project. This guide uses placeholder information.

01 - DOCS
This folder contains anything that isn't a survey drawing, including:
-
- Desktop Surveys
- Written Report
- RAMS
- Quality Assurance Documents
02 - CAD
This folder contains any drawing in CAD format.
Use these files for editing or closer inspection.
03 - PDF
This folder contains all CAD drawings in PDF sheet format.
Use these files for quick access and easy sharing.
04 - CCTV
If you've opted to have a CCTV Survey conducted as well, those files will show up here.
Software to View Your Survey
Software Recommendations
To view our surveys, at the minimum an internet connection is required to download the PDF, which can be opened in most browsers.
To View PDFs
Some documents are submitted in Word Format, for ease of reading. This would need Microsoft Word, or Google Docs.
Alternatively, they can be converted using a Word-to-PDF converter for ease of access, although formatting may break.
To View DWG Files
.DWG files are autocad drawing files. They can be opened using AutoCAD, or BricsCAD -https://www.autodesk.com/uk/products/autocad/overview
They can also be viewed using AutoDesk Freeviewer, however this removes the editing aspect - https://viewer.autodesk.com/
How to Read The Drawings
Survey Drawing & Sheet Features
A survey drawing has many components that may look daunting at first, but they are actually very easy to understand, and all the writing and legends are very intuitive.
Note - The drawing survey should be read in conjunction with the written report, as it will provide a lot of clarity on the drawing and includes the surveyors notes.

The survey legend shows what linetypes, colours and symbols represent which utility on the drawing
Utility Drawing Example
Here you can see:
-
- Green line with BT wording
- Going through the BT line is an Openreach asset
- An orange line labelled LV, which means low voltage cables
The numbers next to each line represent the Depth from the surface in metres. The colour of the depth corresponds to the utility it is for.
Arrows on drainage lines signal the flow direction of the utility.
For example, the orange LV cable. The orange depth reading shows 0.25d, meaning the LV cable is 0.25m from the surface.
The line and depth reading are also on the same layers. This is for when utilities are closely banded or intersecting so that it can be differentiated.
PAS128 Legend
Utility Drawings will have B levels on them, these are Quality levels of data. They correspond to how well the utility has been found, and what tolerance it is.
B4 means that the utility has been assumed by the surveyor due to inability to locate through both methods, but strong site context and markers suggest that utility should run through that path, these utilities must still be checked and hand dug near, as they may not be there.
B3 means that the utility has been located through one method, such as Ground Penetrating Radar or Electromagnetic Locator, but the depth was not reliable, due to possible distortion or crowding in the earth, and the depth does not correspond with typical values the specific utility is found at, for example, LV electrical cables are usually located at 0.3m - 0.4m down, when it falls outside of this range by more than 0.3m, only the horizontal position has been able to be established.
B2 means that the utility has been located using one technique, EML or GPR, and has had a vertical and horizontal position, meaning depth and location.
B1 quality means that the service has been located using both techniques, and has depth and position
